Our client is a leading US transportation supplier serving some of the largest population centres in the nation.
As part of an ongoing culture transformation programme, the company introduced a learning programme to help its leaders and people managers build the skills and knowledge needed to model its values and behaviours, and to create an inclusive and productive work environment for its c20,000 employees.
What we did
FAIRER Consulting was commissioned to design and deliver a series of impactful and engaging workshops for senior leaders and people managers to build their skills to champion diversity by:
- Leading with integrity by respecting and learning from diverse perspectives
- Creating psychologically safe teams where colleagues can speak up no matter what
- Supporting and developing one another
We designed two bespoke programmes:
- For senior leaders: we created an interactive and experiential half-day in-person programme exploring what inclusive leaders do, how unconscious bias impacts decision-making and can lead to inequitable outcomes, how to create psychological safety and practical steps to build accountability for culture change.
- For people managers: we created an interactive and engaging 90-minute webinar exploring the benefits of creating psychologically safe teams, practical steps to being respectfully curious and how to use radical candour to give meaningful and impactful feedback.
To support the workshops, we created a set of inclusion guides to support leaders and people managers with practical actions they can implement within their teams.
The impact
Approximately 1,600 people managers and 60 senior leaders took part in the workshops, which were extremely well received, despite the hostile political environment in the US at the time.
