Creativity, Culture and Belonging: Building a More Inclusive Creative Economy
Creativity, Culture and Belonging: Building a More Inclusive Creative Economy
The creative economy thrives on diverse perspectives, fresh ideas and the ability to tell stories that reflect the richness of society. Yet many organisations across the arts, culture, media and creative sectors continue to face significant challenges when it comes to ensuring that opportunities are genuinely accessible, inclusive and sustainable.
Questions around representation, social mobility, workforce diversity, leadership pathways, wellbeing and belonging are becoming increasingly important. Many organisations recognise that attracting diverse talent is only part of the solution. The greater challenge is creating environments where people can build long-term careers, feel valued for their contribution and see a future for themselves within the sector.
From the affordability of creative careers and the reliance on informal networks, to barriers facing freelancers, disabled creatives, working-class talent and individuals from historically underrepresented communities, the sector faces complex challenges that require collective discussion and shared learning.
At FAIRER Consulting, we work with organisations to create fairer, more inclusive workplaces where people can thrive. We understand that the creative economy occupies a unique position: it shapes culture, influences public perception and inspires future generations, whilst simultaneously navigating many of the same workforce challenges experienced across other sectors.
This interactive 90-minute virtual roundtable will bring together HR, People, DE&I, Learning & Development and Wellbeing professionals from across the creative economy to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of work in the sector.
Together, we will share experiences, exchange practical ideas and consider how organisations can create cultures where creativity, inclusion and wellbeing reinforce one another.
"The creative economy depends on the widest possible range of talent, perspectives and experiences. The challenge facing our sector is not whether diverse talent exists, but whether we are creating the conditions for people to access opportunities, build sustainable careers and truly feel that they belong."
Barry Boffy MBE, FAIRER Consulting
