Training: Conflict Resolution: Disagreeing Well at Work

Problem to solve

Disagreements are either avoided until they escalate OR handled as if every viewpoint carries the same risk, including when someone is being excluded or harmed.

FAIRER perspective

Respectful disagreement should make space for difference without treating discrimination as a legitimate side of a debate. Power, impact and accountability matter as much as tone.

Session summary

A practical session on recognising the difference between healthy challenge, interpersonal conflict and discriminatory behaviour. Participants practise de-escalation, setting boundaries and deciding when a conversation needs dialogue, intervention or escalation, leaving with a simple approach to handling conflict fairly.

Preview our insights

In this short video, FAIRER Managing Director Dan Robertson explores why challenging inappropriate behaviour matters and what can happen when we choose to stay silent.

It’s a preview of the thinking explored in our one-hour training session – from finding the confidence to speak up to navigating disagreement constructively and developing the skills to address conflict in a way that supports better outcomes.
