Seminar: The ‘dark matter’ of the employee life cycle
Often, those working in HR, ED&I and related sectors focus on the significant events within an employee's career journey, such as hiring, onboarding, promotions, maternity leave, and exits. But these are only snapshots in time – for instance, in a 30-year career, you may have decades of time that sits between these big events – and these periods of time are frequently overlooked.
Also, some employees will have few, or no, significant events that pepper their employment – these people may sit beneath the radar and may eventually leave, or they may simply feel overlooked and unimportant, working for long stretches on autopilot with little interaction with, or intervention by HR, ED&I or other related organisational functions.
The periods of time between these milestones often pass disregarded but we want to turn the spotlight on them to discuss how organisations can ensure that they are inclusive. In this seminar, we explore what happens between these key milestones, which we term the ‘dark matter’ of the employee life cycle.
